Liam Hendriks will undergo treatment to fight cancer

Last night, the baseball world was hit with terrible news: Liam Hendriks will have to undergo treatment for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer.

This is what the White Sox announced regarding their closer.

In such a case, we must first and foremost wish Hendriks well. The rest is for now much less important than seeing him return to health.

He will therefore have to find the energy to get out of it. However, he seems determined to go through the ordeal with his head held high.

Hearing the word “cancer” came as a shock to my wife and me.

That said, I welcome the challenge with the same determination that inhabits me when I face its obstacles in my life.

His treatments will begin today.

It goes without saying that the White Sox support their ninth-inning specialist. The club will support him and offer him the tools he will need.

The Sox don’t expect to be able to offer an update on his return until the start of the season, which makes sense. I didn’t expect the opposite either.

Will the club feel the need to go get another closer to make up for his absence? That will remain to be seen in the coming weeks or months.
