Liam Hendriks is back in the Majors

A few months ago, the Chicago White Sox took the baseball world by surprise when they announced that the closer Liam Hendriks had cancer.

After all, it’s never news you expect.

Hendriks has always had an ideal attitude to overcome the disease. Instead of complaining, he took the bull by the horns and decided to “pull the cancer out of the holds” and embrace the challenge.

Recently, the Sox announced that the pitcher had overcome the disease. He would therefore be able to return to the game eventually.

He made a few outings in the minors, a question of getting back in shape. Thereafter, he took the road to Chicago to launch sessions in the bullpen.

And now, today, he will be officially activated by the White Sox.

As the pitcher was never placed on the long-term injured list (60 days), he will not have to return to the roster of 40 players. It will be necessary to make room on that of 26 men, that said.

The Sox didn’t out of respect for the guy, who didn’t miss more than the first two months of the season. We didn’t want to hinder his return.

I imagine that the dose of motivation he will offer to his teammates cannot hurt. After all, it is indeed a motivation.

Let’s hope to see him pitch against the Angels at home…and let’s hope to see him earn the title of the best comeback of the year.

  • Gerrit Cole has to limit home runs.
  • Reminder: the American East is a good division.
  • Marcelo Mayer in the AA.
