Kevin Kiermaier is happy to join the Blue Jays

The Blue Jays have always liked having an excellent center fielder defensively to provide depth…or to be a starter.

In fact, in the last few years, Kevin Pillar, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Kevin Kiermaier have been among the elite in the American East in this regard … and the three ended up donning the jersey of the Jays.

In the case of Kiermaier, it was made official today. The outfielder will win $9 million with the possibility of reaching $750,000 if he stays healthy.

GM Ross Atkins said he was happy to be able to add a player of his caliber, lui who is good defensivelywho runs well and is a good leader.

The main interested party was also eager to announce it, he who posted a message on Twitter to emphasize how happy he is to be there.

He promised he would give everything to help the club win.

Recall that the Dodgers were also finalists for Kiermaier, but he chose to come to Toronto. It’s closer to Tampa Bay, yes, but still: he clearly wanted to play in Toronto if he chose not to go to LA

What season do you think it will have?
