Josh Donaldson is no longer a great ballplayer. He used to be, especially when he wore the colors of the Blue Jays and Braves… but he’s not anymore.
That said, he still has the confidence (or arrogance) of that era. And we know that because of what Rowdy Tellez has said about him in recent weeks.
Remember that the Yankees released the Bringer of Rain due to his performance and the player subsequently signed a minors contract with Milwaukee.
Why minors? To get back into shape after your injury.
The plan was always to call him up a few days after signing and that’s what happened. Seeing him arrive in the Brewers locker room was therefore not a surprise.
He therefore, according to Rowdy Tellez, appeared in the locker room without really speaking to anyone.
Tellez, who more or less wanted to talk about the subject to Foul Territory, nevertheless claimed to have gone to see Donaldson to tell him that when arriving in a locker room, you must introduce yourself.
The former MVP’s response? “Everyone knows who I am. »
The question is obviously not there. When a star is traded, obviously everyone knows his name. But you have to say hello anyway.
Tellez also pointed out to him that when you see a former teammate, you also have to go say hello and ask about the guy.
They never played together in Toronto since Tellez was a prospect, but the two rubbed shoulders in Dunedin during Jays camps, nonetheless.
Hearing this, Donaldson made a food joke on him and moved on.
I also notice that good Rowdy didn’t exactly make his teammate look good and threw him under the bus publicly. He didn’t seem like he was joking, but maybe I’m wrong.
This is not in the habits of the Tellez household, who is a regular on the show and who always has fun without necessarily speaking against the others.
In 12 games at Wisconsin, Josh Donaldson has three home runs and 10 RBIs. He’s hitting .205 since arriving in Milwaukee, which is better than his .142 average in the Bronx in 2023.
He is eligible to participate in the playoffs with his club.
