Jasson Dominguez is a top prospect for the Yankees. In fact, only Anthony Volpe is ranked higher than him among the Bronx Bombers’ MLB prospects.
Does that mean the club wants to put all the pressure in the world on his shoulders right now? No not necessarily.
But we still want to watch it.
In fact, manager Aaron Boone is the first to say the center fielder is on the club’s radar. Nick Swisher, an adviser to the club, holds back less.
He will be an important player here shortly.

Because the player only has five games of experience in AA, we haven’t gotten there yet. He will start by dominating in the AA before we move on.
But clearly, he is watched.
What we notice is that the Yankees want to make room for young people. We see it with Anthony Volpe, who was given the keys to shortstop at 21 years old.
He did it after a good season in the minors and after a great camp.
The Martian, as Dominguez has been nicknamed since he signed in New York, had a great 2022 season, was extraordinary at the Major camp of his people in 2023… and he is loved.
The center fielder has also seen the Yankees ask him to practice left field. Curiously, the hole is there, for the Yankees…
Even if the principal simply wants to improve and stay healthy, I think the Yankees keep in mind that it’s a possibility: he could finish the season at the top.
For what? Because he’s good, of course, but also because the Yankees seem to want to make room for young people to avoid giving large amounts to veterans. It’s better for the payroll, we agree.
