Jacob deGrom quits game against Yankees early

For the second time in three starts, Jacob deGrom left the match due to health problems.

This doesn’t necessarily bode well for the Texas Rangers, although team manager Bruce Bochy is reassuring in saying that the removal of his ace was intended as a precautionary measure.

DeGrom exited the game against the New York Yankees in the fourth inning with his team leading 5-0.

Rangers doctors will assess deGrom today to ensure the pain in his right arm will not affect the short to medium term.

Yesterday, Degrom had silenced the Yankees batters for three and two-thirds innings, before Willie Calhoun came to hit a slippery ball for safety. The 89 mph shot was the last for the Rangers ace this game. Reliever Dane Dunning then took his place on the mound.

In the end, the Rangers won by a score of 5-2, they who occupy the first place in the West division of the American.

Recall that deGrom had also left the April 17 match against the Royals due to right wrist pain, but he had not missed playing time afterwards.

The number 48 is in his first season with Rangers and has seen his training camp cut short due to stiffness in the left side of his body.

The recipient of two Cy Young Trophies as a member of the New York Mets signed a five-year pact this winter with the Rangers. DeGrom will receive a total of $185 million over the term of this agreement.

Since 2020, the 34-year-old pitcher has suffered from health problems, he who was limited to 64 innings in 2022.

To see the ace of the Rangers rotation having to cut short a few outings this season is not surprising, but all this must certainly worry the leaders of the Rangers who have invested large sums in recent years in order to see their formation compete again .

Let’s hope Jacob DeGrom can once again dominate like he did in a Mets uniform. Rangers are unbeaten in DeGrom’s six starts this season.
