The least we can say is that the Baltimore Orioles had a 2023 season beyond expectations, if not a magical season in the circumstances.
And the story of this great adventure was revealed in the form of a documentary entitled 101: The Story of the 2023 Baltimore Orioles.
It features footage from one of Maryland's best seasons and footage involving players, coaches and team staff.
Players who appear in the documentary include Aaron Hicks, Austin Hays, Danny Coulombe, James McCann, Ryan O'Hearn and Tyler Wells.
This campaign has been a long time coming in Baltimore after five straight difficult seasons, four of which ended with fewer than 60 wins.
The work of rebuilding the franchise, however, began to bear fruit in 2022 with a season of 83 wins against 79 losses. Despite everything, the Orioles finished fourth and penultimate in the American League East.
But the year 2023 has erased everything, or almost. The Orioles then won 101 games, their first 100-win season since 1980.
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde won American League manager of the year and general manager Mike Elias won all-MLB manager of the year. Both also appear in the documentary.
