Needless to say, baseball fans are eagerly awaiting the start of major league baseball training camps.
The off-season is the perfect time to assess the strengths and weaknesses of each team and analyze possible staff movements for the next season.
Looking at the Baltimore Orioles, there’s plenty to be excited about in the coming years.
In their ranks, they have very good major league prospects. At the top of the list is already Adley Rutschman, the ambidextrous receiver who played a full season with the Birds.
The receiver does things very well and he will only improve over the seasons. All we have to wish him is that he doesn’t get hurt.
On Twitter, the Baltimore Orioles shared a post with their players who are among the top-10 prospects by position in Major League Baseball.
At third base, the Orioles can count on Gunnar Henderson, a third baseman who can help out at shortstop or second base. A left-handed hitter, he can put the ball in a safe place, in addition to being an opportunist.
In 2022, in 34 games with the big club, he drove in 18 runs and hit 30 hits.
It must not be forgotten Jackson Hollidaythe shortstop and son of Matt Holliday, who was the most recent first overall pick in the draft.
On the mound, the formation of Maryland have two very good starting pitchers hopes, either Grayson Rodriguez and DL Hall. Rodriguez is known for having a powerful fastball with lots of velocity. Opposing hitters will just have to watch out.
Coby Mayd (third baseman), Connor Norby (second baseman) and Colton Cowser (outfielder) are all top prospects to watch.
Clearly, the Orioles have rebuilt the right way.
- David Stearns isn’t about to head to Houston.
- Will Starling Marte start camp on time?
- Vladimir Guerrero’s nephew is one to watch.
