Gary Sanchez signs a contract in the Dominican Republic Winter League

Even though the 2023 MLB regular season is about to begin, there are still free agents who haven’t found takers since the start of the offseason.

This is the case, among others, of receiver Gary Sanchez. If the latter has still not signed a pact with a Major team, he has just initialed a contract with the Leones del Escogido in the Dominican Republic Winter League.

Former New York Mets reliever Jeurys Familia has also agreed to sign with the same club.

To come back to Sanchez, this therefore means that negotiations with the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Angels have stalled or are not progressing very well.

However, that doesn’t mean the former New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins won’t play major league baseball in 2023, since it’s a winter league, but let’s just say we can consider this as a small tumble in his career, a tumble that we have seen happening for some time.

Perhaps the 30-year-old will cause some MLB organizations to widen their eyes as he maintains form in his homeland, but it certainly won’t be through his defensive prowess.

  • Yu Darvish is ready to pitch tonight. Shohei Ohtani too, by the way.
  • Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani are having a great tournament.
  • Adam Wainwright is having fun.
  • The starting pitcher for tonight.
