For Spencer Strider, it's the World Series or nothing for the Braves

With all of their acquisitions this off-season, the Los Angeles Dodgers are now the men to beat in major league baseball in 2024.

However, this does not mean that other MLB players and teams will leave the way open for them, far from it.

And that's the case for Atlanta Braves ace pitcher Spencer Strider, who believes anything short of a World Series victory next season will be a disappointment for the Georgia franchise.

I think there should be no acceptance other than winning a World Series in this organization. This is the most talented team in baseball. We need to set the bar as high as possible and anything lower than that is a failure for us.

It has the merit of being clear and he is not wrong. The pressure will be high in Atlanta.

However, Strider will also have to step up to the plate, headlining an excellent starting rotation that also includes Bryce Elder, Max Fried, Charlie Morton and Chris Sale.

The right-hander had a good season on the mound for the Braves in 2023, as evidenced by his 20 wins, 281 strikeouts and 3.86 ERA in 186 2/3 innings of work. He will have to continue this momentum if he wants his dream to come true.

The Braves haven't won a playoff series since winning the World Series in 2021. In the final fall dance, they were only passing through, being shown the way home in the Division Series by the Philadelphia Phillies for a second consecutive year.
