Five straight wins for the A’s

Attention ladies and gentlemen: the A’s of Oakland are on fire.

The California club, which is on track to become the worst roster in major league history, has won its last five games – including a road sweep against Milwaukee.

Is it the Brent Rooker effect, who is pretty much the only noteworthy player there?

Seriously, it’s hard to put your finger on what suddenly causes the A’s to start sticking gains.

Is it because guys are so tired of losing that pride has kicked in? It is a scenario that is possible, yes.

But it’s more than that. To beat a club like Milwaukee, you don’t have to play bad baseball.

At the end of the season, we will look at the whole thing and we will say to ourselves that it was surely a simple anomaly since the club will (easily) lose more than 100 games, even 110 or 120 games.

They are already at 50 losses…

The club can hardly go lower since there is almost nothing left to trade, but looking at the ranking, we realize that finishing in 30th place is not guaranteed.

For what? Because the Royals are particularly bad, too.

Many clubs don’t have 30 wins yet, but apart from KC and Oakland, everyone has at least 26 wins. But the Royals and the A’s are only 18 and 17 wins away.

The difference? The Royals have some good pieces in the roster… whether it’s good youngsters or whether it’s pieces that could leave at the deadline.

round 10
  • And 40 wins for the DBacks.
  • It’s going well for the Marlins.
  • Big win for the Red Sox last night.
  • The Blue Jays hold their breath with Brandon Belt.
  • Bryce Harper on baseball in Vegas.
