As you may know, the San Diego Padres are potentially considering the idea of trading Fernando Tatis Jr. this offseason.
Why? Because the financial commitments of the club are enormous for the continuation of the things, because the Padres have a new shortstop and because of the behavior of the youngster.
Many seem to believe in the possibility of seeing him leave, but I have difficulty with that. Why? Because he will not be traded at a discount and in addition to his huge salary, he will be expensive in hopes. The Padres won’t let him go on the cheap.
It’s expensive to pay for a bad teammate, although I understand the rumors a bit because of his talent. In the end, however, I am on the side of those who do not believe in it.
And this morning, Rick DiPietro added fuel to the fire.
Yes, we are talking about Rick DiPietro, the former Islanders guard. He became a member of the media who has worked at ESPN for a few years.
In short. All that to say that he and Dave Rothenberg (his sidekick, a longtime radio man) discussed what the former Islanders had heard.
And what DiPietro heard was that the Yankees would talk about Tatis Jr.
I don’t see the Bombardiers putting so much money on a problem case. In my eyes, the truth is between those who say that Tatis Jr. will not move and DiPietro: the discussion exists, but it is not necessarily credible at the moment.
But OK. Remember that at the moment, the word is that the Yankees want to strike a blow after signing Aaron Judge … and the club is looking for a shortstop.
