Fernando Tatis Jr. responded to Yankees fans with power

The San Diego Padres were visiting the Yankees in New York yesterday and local fans took the opportunity to heartily boo Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr.

THE fans Yankees reacted to Tatis Jr.’s suspension by calling him a cheater and chanting the word steroid in unison.

The latter, with panache, silenced his detractors by going there with a monstrous slap which ended its race on the second balcony of Yankee Stadium. Reliever Ron Marinaccio was the victim of that two-run home run in the sixth inning. A gear change that did not have the desired effect.

At this point in the game the score was 4-0 for the visitors and they won by the score of 5-1.

Tatis Jr.’s teammate Juan Soto also hit a deuce shot the previous inning and this time it was starter Randy Vásquez who saw the ball go a very good distance. Young Vásquez was on his first Major League start and suffered his first setback.

In total, Soto and Tatis Jr.’s home runs went 871 feet.

Following his success and regaining his position in the outfield, Fernando Tatis Jr. took the opportunity to make fun of the supporters installed in the popular stands. It’s fair game, considering that Tatis Jr. has a sense of showmanship and that the game was to his team’s advantage.

For his part, the Padres starter, Joe Musgrove, was in possession of his means and he limited the attack of the Yankees to a small run in six and a third innings of work. He struck out six batters on his night on the mound.

Aaron Boone, the Yankees pilot, missed this appointment because he was serving a game suspension.

The Padres have been disappointing so far this season, sitting second last in their division. Yesterday’s match at least allowed key players to stand out and get a big win on the road, in an environment that was not necessarily easy to play in and often hostile.

For his part, Fernando Tatis Jr. leaves no one indifferent and Yankees fans may not want to provide him with an extra dose of motivation on the eve of the second game of the series.

  • A good outing from Max Scherzer yesterday.
  • Despite this bad game, the Blue Jays won yesterday against the Twins.
  • Adam Duvall is approaching a return to play.
