Fernando Tatis Jr. injured in the wrist: he will miss several months

During the lockout, MLB teams couldn’t talk to players about anything. And when it ended, a nasty surprise awaited the Padres regarding Fernando Tatis Jr.

The latter suffered a serious wrist injury during the off-season. He should (or could, in fact) go for surgery and thus miss up to three months of activities for the San Diego Padres.

I hope his surgery wasn’t delayed by the lockout, but at the same time, it’s clear the guy couldn’t go for surgery on the recommendation of his bosses.

We are talking here about his left wrist via an injury which was aggravated a few weeks ago by taking a swing.

Who will play shortstop in San Diego for the first few months of the season? It doesn’t matter since it won’t be Tatis Jr.

He therefore cuts off his chances, like Ronald Acuna Jr. in Atlanta (return in May), of being the MVP of the National in 2022 and this will inevitably harm the chances of the Padres to make the playoffs.

It’s not Junior’s first major injury in his career, as he had shoulder problems last year but refused surgery.

Is the young man, who signed a $340 million contract last year, taking his career seriously? The question is valid.

But he’s not the only star to have been through something big lately. Why?

Because yesterday Pete Alonso flipped his car after seeing a driver run into him on the road.

He is fine (as are his passengers), but he feared for his life. He claims to be lucky to be alive after being in a car that did three laps in the air.

He will be at his post tomorrow on the ground, according to his words.
