Edwin Diaz’s season is over (barring a miracle)

Yesterday, Edwin Diaz was injured during the celebrations of the victory of his team, the Puerto Ricans. After a big win and a big save, he injured his right knee.

And now the Mets announced that he was going to have surgery this afternoon and that the average recovery time from his injury is eight months.

Barring a miracle, his season is over.

Because he tore the patellar tendon in his right knee, expect a long road to recovery. There is no gray area, according to GM Billy Eppler: it’s the injury he has.

Details to come…
