Edwin Diaz can't wait to get back into action and back to Narco

Now that football season is officially over, North American sports fans can turn their attention to America's favorite pastime, baseball.

Baseball means summer, home runs, cold beer and hot dogs under the blazing July sun. All things I miss. Another thing I miss related to the ball is to see one of the best relievers on the Manfred circuit, Edwin Diaz, in action.

Diaz missed the entire 2023 season due to an injury he suffered at the World Baseball Classic while celebrating a victory with his teammates. This greatly affected the performance of his team, the Mets, a club that had a more than disappointing season in his absence.

The good news for fans of the New York team is that the main character in the story in this article is feeling in great shape and is more than eager to return to action for the upcoming season.

He could have played at the end of 2023

The 29-year-old told reporters in an interview that he could have played towards the end of the most recent campaign. However, with the Mets not in the playoff race, the decision not to rush his return to action was made.

In this sense, the closer is more than fresh and available to try to bring the Mets back to happy days, whose previous season seemed interminable, allow me the understatement here.

Still, I would have been curious to see Diaz in action. He must be the first disappointed not to have been able to play a whole year. Hopefully he doesn't feel rusty in the first few games and the timing will be there in his case.

To the sound of Narco

Good news also for fans of the baseball world. The Puerto Rico native still intends to take the field to the sound of the song Narco under the trumpet of Timmy Trumpet. He is well aware of the buzz created around the thing and knows full well that supporters would be disappointed otherwise.

His entrance with Timmy Trumpet's live performance went around the baseball world and even non-baseball fans were talking about it because it was so spectacular and triumphant.

I am humbled to think that each appearance of Diaz in 2024 will be an event in itself and that the crowd at Citi Field will be pumped up to see their favorites win the game!
