This afternoon, we learned that the Quebecer Édouard Julien, in his second game in the Majors, was going to hit in the first row of his offensive lineup.
Result? It paid off.
In his first game in the Bronx, he helped ensure that unlike the past 20 years, it was the Twins who crown the volley to the Yankees.
It started with his first major hit. In front of family and friends, he started the match strong with a beautiful single.
He then came to score what became his team’s first point. And when I say the first point, I mean the first… of nine in the first inning.
Michael A. Taylor, Julien and Carlos Corrrea, still in first, later hit three homers in a row. And obviously, for the Quebecer, it was a first career four-goal hit.
At the beginning of the week, Julien was still in the AAA. There he is in Major League Baseball making an impact at the top of the Twins roster.
That’s excellent news.
- The Blue Jays’ #1 prospect has started his season well.
- At the moment, Marcus Semien is not an option.
