Édouard Julien received votes for the title of rookie of the year

Tonight, MLB announced its Rookie of the Year winners. Not surprisingly, Corbin Carroll and Gunnar Henderson won both titles.

Both did so unanimously.

We can talk about the fact that, for the first time in history, the Diamondbacks finally have a Rookie of the Year. The other 29 organizations had at least one.

But I prefer to talk about the fact that Quebecer Édouard Julien had third place votes. He had two.

What you need to know is that 30 journalists vote in each league for three players each. So there are guys who get third place votes.

In all, 15 players received votes in both leagues and five of them did not receive a first or second place vote.

This is the case for Julien.

That said, it’s nothing to worry about since the guys in front of him are excellent, but also because he hasn’t spent the entire season in the Majors.

But OK. When we look at the National and we see that Eury Perez and Elly De La Cruz had fewer votes (one each) than the Quebecer, we see that it is something.

The fact that Perez and De La Cruz aren’t in the same league doesn’t actually make it any less impressive.

Let us remember that Julien has become essential to the success of his family. Even in the playoffs, he did well.

If he can improve his defense at second base and his approach against left-handed pitchers, he will become even more formidable.

  • DeMarlo Hale would have had the Guardians manager job if Terry Francona had decided.
  • Aaron Nola is in the sights of the Braves and the Cardinals, in particular.
  • If Joe Espada had not been named manager of the Astros, several clubs would have wanted him in their organization.
  • Josh Hader: Rangers and Phillies in the picture.
