Quebecers are not numerous in the MLB this year. After all, Abraham Toro is back and forth between Milwaukee and Nashville, Charles Leblanc is in the AAA and Otto Lopez is injured.
But it’s a different speech for Édouard Julien.
The Minnesota Twins product had a great July, which even prompted the Twins to make plans around him. Jorge Polanco therefore learned another position.
That said, for the past few weeks, it’s been more difficult for Julien. In fact, before today’s game, he was hitting .194 in the month of August.
You might think a hamstring injury wasn’t helping him put on the best performance possible, but today after skipping his turn he exploded.
For the first time in his career as a major league baseball player, the Quebecer got four hits in a game.
He did it on the sidelines of an 8-7 loss for his team. That said, by adding his two RBIs, we see that he made his war effort.
It’s not his fault if the Twins lacked opportunism the rest of the time.
Such a performance is good for the morale of the infield player. It proves to him that he can strike despite his recent injury and it gives confidence to his manager.
We’ll see if it will continue in the next few days.
