Édouard Julien believes Canada can win the World Classic

The World Baseball Classic will finally begin tonight with a duel between Cuba and the Netherlands. The first pitch will take place at 11:00 p.m. Quebec time.

On the Canadian side, the tournament will begin on March 12 at 3 p.m., still on Quebec time. Their adversary will then be Great Britain.

And one of the Canadians, Édouard Julien, can’t wait to hit the field and start this great adventure.

I grew up watching the Classic and all those great players that played for Canada like Justin Morneau, Joey Votto and Russell Martin. I think it’s a great platform to show the world that you belong to the group of the best in baseball and also to represent your country. It’s gonna be super cool.

Julien, who is on fire these days, flew yesterday (Monday) from the Minnesota Twins camp in Fort Myers to Arizona to join his Canadian teammates.

And the number four prospect of the Twins is not going there as a tourist. He believes Canada can do great things in this short tournament.

We have a group of young people who are hungry. We are going to break some hearts. We’re going to go out there and work hard, and I think we have a chance to win it all. We’ll see how it goes, but I’m pretty confident.

Confidence overflows in the young man of 23 years and this is what makes him currently successful, success fully deserved.

Even if anything can happen, however, don’t expect Canada to be the big winner of the World Classic, but we can expect the maple leaf to do well.
