Don Mattingly set to sign contract with Blue Jays

Don Mattingly has experience to spare. Whether as a player for the Yankees or as a manager for the Dodgers and Marlins, there is nothing he can’t test.

But as all manager positions are currently filled, he must look elsewhere for his next job. And obviously, it will not be on TV with YES Network.

Why?

Because, as he said today, he negotiates with certain teams in order to obtain another role in major league baseball.

And obviously, his next challenge may be in Toronto.

According to what the guys from the New York Post have reported, the experienced man is likely to cross the border since talks with the Blue Jays are well advanced.

Obviously, he would not be there to become the manager. This position belongs to a John Schneider who fully deserves it.

Is this for the post of coach bench? It is possible since nothing is set in stone on this subject either.

In fact, whatever the role, he could be an interesting resource to support a manager who has only 74 games of experience in his current position. He could also help a guy like Vladdy.

It would be a great hire for both the Jays and him. He could give himself the resources to keep his feet in baseball.
