Even if the Diamondbacks made it to the World Series, attracting fans will remain a challenge for the Arizona team.
That’s what a small market is.
Some teams prefer to feel sorry for themselves and do nothing… and others use strategies that highlight the fact that they are a small market.
This is the case for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The team has decided to offer a pass for $299. This includes 83 tickets for two off-season games and all 81 regular season games.
So it comes to less than four dollars per ticket.
Obviously, these are not great tickets. Tickets are not transferable. But still: it’s really not expensive.
Looks like prices from yesteryear.
We imagine that someone who plans to go to several matches would benefit from going there. After all, even if someone goes to 30 games, it’s $10 per ticket.
This is a good way to build customer loyalty to ensure fans come to the stadium to buy beer.
I respect the fact that the club is trying something, but if such a good team has to do a promotion like this to fill the stadium…
That says a lot about the state of small markets in MLB.
