Danny Jansen feels stronger and more explosive

Until Gabriel Moreno was sent elsewhere, to those of the Arizona Diamondbacks, the situation of receivers with the Toronto Blue Jays was more than ambiguous. Now that the case is settled, one of the remaining receivers, Danny Jansen, looks to the next campaign.

And from the start of the spring camp, the main interested party made waves. As we know, Jansen is an excellent defensive receiver. His attacking contribution, however, was often lacking. However, this could change in 2023.

It’s just that Jansen has added muscle to his frame and he wants to continue his momentum from the end of last season.

I feel stronger and I feel more explosive too. I’m just trying to protect my body and build a little more muscle. I feel good. Obviously, I’m excited to be here too. I feel fast, like I’m moving well with a bit heavier weight. I like where I am as we approach camp.

If the 27-year-old continues his momentum, it will make it easier for his manager, who can more often place the other receiver, Alejandro Kirk, as the hitter of choice, he who is far inferior to Jansen defensively, despite the beautiful improvements he has made at this level.

Especially if Jansen brings power to his game and stays healthy, unlike last year when he spent more than a month on the injured list.

The most important thing is to find a way to stay healthy and keep the approach I had last year. My goal was to be stronger in certain areas and I feel like I succeeded. It’s a long season and I’ve learned that you have to treat your body to make everything work together.

Indeed, a long season awaits Jansen and the challenge will be to display consistency throughout the latter. Let’s say that everything suggests that he is heading in the right direction.
