Chris Sale gets his first win since September 2021

For several years, the Boston Red Sox have not been able to count on Chris Sale due to his numerous injuries. And that, he is the first to admit.

The good news for the Red Sox is that the main interested party is healthy this season. He will therefore be able to help his people fight to make the series… until August, gossip will say.

Brief. All that to say, after his disastrous first outing against the Orioles earlier this season, the pitcher clearly picked up the pace yesterday against the Tigers.

After starting the game with eight straight balls, he finished the first inning with three strikeouts before adding four more.

In five innings, he gave up three runs. It’s not the sea to drink, but it was enough to curb the series of defeats of his (the club was swept away by the Pirates) against Detroit.

He, at the same time, obtained his first victory since September 22, 2021. It undoubtedly did a world of good to his morale, that.

He was carried by his teammates.

Even better? Kenley Jansen got his first save in his new colors. He therefore had his say in the 6-3 victory of his team.

Note that the club is off today. The next time that will be the case, it will be on April 27. A big streak therefore awaits the Sox.

So yesterday’s victory was really important.

  • Yes, the Mets will want Shohei Ohtani.
  • He is adapting well to San Diego.
  • Éric Gagné is well surrounded.
