In the last few days, the Boston Red Sox made the decision to trade the services of Chris Sale to the Atlanta Braves.
Then, a few days later, Sale agreed to sign a contract extension in town. He secures one more year in Atlanta, within an excellent formation.
It all happened quite quickly. Quickly, Sale mourned his life in Boston, where he has many memories – including the 2018 World Series.
He's the first to say it: he had the best times of his life in Boston, but he also had the worst times of his life there.
Why the worst? The wounds.
Sale was never afraid to say that he had a hard time dealer with the fact that injuries have slowed him down in recent years.
He didn't pitch up to his contract and he blames himself.
He appreciated the people in Boston, the fans and the organization. That's why, in the end, he had a hard time saying goodbye to his life in Massachusetts.
That said, when he understood that it was to go to Atlanta (a club which obviously believes that he can stay healthy) that he could lift his no-trade clause, he accepted.
He decided quickly, but in addition to joining a good club, he wanted to put his family in a good situation. He also wanted a club that trained in Florida.
Surprised by the transaction, Sale expected to be healthy for the final year of his contract with the Red Sox. Instead, he embarks on a new challenge.
Let's see what this will do.
- Jorge Polanco in Toronto?
- Jordan Montgomery would like to return to Texas.
- The Yankees don't want Shota Imanaga.
