Carlos Rodon is progressing well – Passion MLB

The New York Yankees infirmary is currently overflowing. When one player returns to the game, another (or two) leaves for the disabled list. This is sadly the way things have been going in the Bronx for the past few years.

The only good news in this regard, however, is the progress of starting pitcher Carlos Rodon.

Indeed, the left-hander has taken another step towards a return to the game, throwing the best fastball the Bombardiers have seen since signing him at a high price of $162 million six years ago. month of that.

Rodon is recovering from a pulled forearm muscle and back issues. He threw 29 in two mock innings in practice yesterday afternoon (Sunday) and felt no pain.

Encouraging signs for pitching coach Matt Blake.

Life on his fastball was very good, so that’s an encouraging step.

Same story on the side of manager Aaron Boone.

From a shooting standpoint, this is probably his best outing since spring camp. His fastball had the stuff, without him pushing it. All in all another good day.

The 30-year-old is expected to face batters again on Thursday and could then start a game in the minors five or six days later if all goes well.

This bodes well for the Yankees, who could see Harrison Bader back in the lineup this week, but who still have no timeline for a possible return of captain Aaron Judge.
