Carlos Rodon hopes to raise more than $200 million

Regardless of who acquires pitcher Carlos Rodon, he does intend to charge for his future training.

According to several analysts, the left-hander would like to obtain a contract for seven seasons, each of which would be valued at $30 million.

It’s true that after a so-so start to his career, Rodon simply blossomed in 2021. In his final season with the White Sox, he posted some impressive stats, putting him in the Cy Young Trophy discussion.

In 2022 with the Giants, Rodon had just as much success. He got $21.5 million for this successful season for him. However, he could choose to quit if he was still healthy and had pitched at least 110 innings. Both conditions have been met.

Thus, at the beginning of November, the formation of San Francisco was fully aware that he was going to leave to obtain more with a new contract. Which seems so…

In the Big Apple?

Once again, the Yankees seem to be in the middle of a race to acquire the services of a coveted player. If the Yankees’ rotation looks solid enough, the addition of Carlos Rodon would really give the Bronx Bombers some extra cushion.

A second left-handed pitcher wouldn’t hurt the New York team.

If the Yankees were unable to get their hands on the 30-year-old athlete, they could turn to Nathan Eovaldi. At least that’s what MLB Network’s Jon Heyman believes.

Recall that the right-hander has already launched in New York in 2015 and 2016. Eovaldi has had his share of success with Boston, but he could be tempted to go with a formation that aims for the top of the division.
