Here’s an article on Carlos Correa because I thought we didn’t talk about him enough during baseball’s off-season.
Jokes aside, the news has just fallen: Correa will ultimately not participate in the World Baseball Classic with the Puerto Rican team.
It’s a decision that was taken jointly with the player and his team, Giants Dishes Minnesota Twins.
For what? Rest assured: this is not related to an injury, but because the player’s wife should give birth to the couple’s second child in the coming weeks.
Everyone therefore decided that it was better not to send him to the Classic, so that he could concentrate on his family and on the Twins camp.
Remember that this does not create a shortstop hole for his country since Francisco Lindor is there. In fact, it creates a hole at third base, the position he would have played if his New York contract had been valid.
But clearly, it will create a hole offensively speaking. That’s official.
It is good not to do things by halves. It’s also good to focus on the family, which is the most important, and the Twins for the next few weeks.
- Zack Greinke will have a no-trade clause.
- Ian Kinsler becomes assistant GM at Rangers.
- Stephen Piscotty at the Giants. It’s a minor’s contract.
