Normally, when a major player signs a contract, his new team presents him to the media during a press conference.
Today, Carlos Correa was to be presented to the press in San Francisco to discuss his 13-year contract valued at $350 million. That said, this morning the conference was postponed.
We didn’t really know why.
However, we have just understood: there would be uncertainty about his medical file, he who underwent his medical tests.
We don’t know exactly what is blocking (but it wouldn’t be his back) in the case of the shortstop. But what we do know is that he has an injury history that was already scary when we talked about his 13-year, $350 million contract.
This is nothing to improve the situation.
Will the contract be reworked downwards? Will it ultimately be a storm in a teacup? Hard to say.
But that should not reassure anyone, we agree. It starts badly the association between the player and the club, and this, even if it will perhaps be something only minor.
