Cardinals: the worst disappointment of the start of the season

When you think of a major league disappointment, you quickly think of the Chicago White Sox. After all, the Illinois club plays uninspired baseball.

Today, the club notably carried out 11 personnel movements. Good clubs don’t do that in MLB.

But in my eyes, the biggest disappointment is the St. Louis Cardinals. For what? Because expectations were higher of them than the Sox.

Their 10-19 record ranks them 25th in major league baseball. They are the only team in the National to be 10 games from the top of their division. Only the Rockies have a worse record in the National League.

I continue?

In a division where the Pirates are doing more than well and the Brewers are going full throttle, the Cardinals are falling behind like crazy.

What’s hard to believe is that last year the club was doing really well. Do the players live a wake after the end of the careers of Yadier Molina and Albert Pujols?

Does the absence of Adam Wainwright make everything fall apart?

But does it affect the club to the point where the club’s pitchers are below league average? Besides Jodan Montgomery, it’s hard…

There must be another factor to explain such a rank in the ranking.

Obviously, I don’t have the answer (ie what’s causing the whole thing) and no one does. If I had it, I’d get a call from the bosses there.

Why is Paul Goldschmidt the only hitter who meets expectations? Why is Jordan Walker in the AAA? It’s a topic of discussion there.

The problem is, with the right teams in the American East and West, it almost takes a division title to make the playoffs in Central. And right now, things are going very badly.

Will Oliver Marmol pay for all of this?
