Cal Raleigh criticizes Mariners staff for eliminating his team

If the Seattle Mariners hadn’t crashed in September, they would be on a bye right now, awaiting the results of the Wild Card Series in order to know their Division Series opponent.

But the last month has been catastrophic and the Mariners are on leave, this time until the spring.

And Cal Raleigh still hasn’t digested that. Indeed, after the elimination of his team, the receiver pointed the finger at his staff for inaction at the trade deadline.

Anytime you can add parts, you should do so. I mean look in the Rangers locker room, they added more than anyone and look where that got them. Going for guys who have done it, guys who have been there, guys who are leaders, guys who have shown time and time again that they can succeed in this league is definitely what would have helped this club.

This has the merit of being clear and Raleigh is not wrong. In the midst of a frenzied playoff race, with other organizations bolstering their rosters, the Mariners’ main move was trading Paul Sewald to Arizona for Dominic Canzone, Josh Rojas and Ryan Bliss.

We will come back for efficiency.

As one can imagine in the world we live in, where no one can say anything anymore, Raleigh had to apologize for his comments, even though he should NEVER have done so.

Above all, the sensitive egos of the team leaders should not have been hurt. Poor little darlings.

As Raleigh stated, this team must change its attitude from top to bottom, including player involvement on and off the field. Otherwise, a new streak of 21 years without participating in the fall dance like the one broken last year could begin in the coming campaigns.

  • The series are stressful.
  • Kyle Tucker lost his 30/30 season.
  • Teoscar Hernandez doesn’t know what awaits him.
