The Texas Rangers would be among the most insistent on acquiring the services of Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds.
At least that’s what MLB Network analyst Jon Morosi says.
Considering that Adolis Garcia could be a designated hitter, the Rangers would fill a need by acquiring Reynolds. In addition to being solid defensively and fairly quick, the outfielder hits both sides of the box, an undeniable asset for any formation.
A price to pay
In order to afford Reynolds, Rangers will have no choice but to give some good hopes in return. The Pirates would at least like to get some good pitchers back from the 27-year-old.
The Texan formation has in its ranks a few pitchers who are among the top-100 of major baseball’s best prospects, starting with Al Leiter’s son, Jack.
The 22-year-old pitcher was a first-round pick (2nd overall) for Rangers in 2021. He is expected to be a great starter and have a brilliant career. Will the Rangers want to let him go though? There is the question…
Another pitcher that could be offered is Owen White or Brock Porter. Why not Kumar Rocker?
If the Pirates want to get a player from another position, they could be tempted by Josh Jung, a versatile young third baseman who can also play elsewhere on the field (infield and outfield). However, he played about twenty games in major league baseball.
It will be interesting to see where Bryan Reynolds ends up in the coming weeks, if he has to leave.
