The Texas Rangers’ start to the season is turning many heads. The team sits first in the American West, four games behind their closest rivals.
The organization has replenished its roster with several star players on the circuit. Just think of Marcus Semien and Corey Seager, who both signed huge contracts in the off-season leading up to 2022. General manager Chris Young wasn’t afraid to pull out the wallet this year either, since Jacob deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi have joined a group that is beginning to be definitely scary.
Another major addition is that of Bruce Bochy as team manager. The one who won three World Series with the San Francisco Giants, signed an agreement with the Texas Rangers.
In an interview with journalist Ken Rosenthal of MLB on FOXBochy testified to the growing hopes that rest on his team.
Our team is ready to take it to the next level, this is the mentality that all players should have. Our starting pitchers are good enough to give us a very good chance of winning every game.
– Bruce Bochy
He also did not hesitate to highlight the excellent work that has been done by general manager Chris Young over the past two years. Young’s passion and desire to restore a good image at Rangers is a big part of what prompted Bochy, who had been longing to come back, to come out of retirement to come and manage in Texas.
The Rangers will have a lot to do if they want to be the top of the American West at the end of the season. The Houston Astros have won it five times in the past six years and they are undoubtedly the favorites to win it again this year.
