Bruce Bochy has still not lost a final match

While many thought they were dead, the Texas Rangers forced a game seven in the American League Championship Series last night (Sunday).

And if we trust the career of their manager Bruce Bochy, they are likely to find themselves in the World Series no later than tonight.

It is that the skipper has still not lost a final game in the playoffs in his entire career, having a record of five wins against no losses in such circumstances. He is at the top in this regard in history, tied with Joe Maddon, Dick Williams and Dave Roberts.

If Bochy and his flock were to complete the comeback against the Houston Astros, the manager would then participate in his fifth World Series.

However, he knows that you should not sell the bear’s skin before killing it and that it will not be easy to do so.

It will be a difficult match. We are going to face a good pitcher. We are lucky to be here. It will be exciting. I’m proud of the way the guys bounced back from a tough loss.

When the 68-year-old says it won’t be easy, it’s because of his experience. But it’s also because Max Scherzer will be on the mound for the Rangers.

It is true that the veteran gunner will participate in a final meeting with a third different franchise, thus joining Roger Clemens, Gerrit Cole, Zack Greinke and Jon Lester in this field, but this is hardly a guarantee of success, having experienced all kinds of trouble on the mound during the last fall dances.

One thing is certain, however, we will be treated to quite a spectacle in this last Texas State duel in 2023.

  • Why is Bob Melvin the man for the job in San Francisco, according to The Athletic?
  • A new professional league is entering.
  • Bryan Abreu will learn his fate before tonight’s match.
