Braves: the first team to reach 90 wins this year

If you had any doubts about who the best team in MLB was (Atlanta), the Braves are proving that it’s futile to even ask the question.

For what? Because no challenge is too big for Brian Snitker’s men.

In fact, these days, the club faces the Dodgers, who have the third-best record in MLB behind Atlanta and Baltimore. And in three games so far, Atlanta has three wins.

The club didn’t smash the Dodgers and they won three close games, but that’s the mark of good teams getting up at the right time.

Let’s say the Blue Jays should take some inspiration from itthey who have all the misery in the world to stick victories this season.

The Braves did what they had to do to be at the top, then.

Result? We are talking about the first MLB team, in 2023, to reach 90 wins. The Orioles (84), Dodgers (83) and Rays (82) are the only other teams with at least 80.

If all goes well, the Braves can (easily) navigate the end of the season and prepare for the playoffs.

During yesterday’s game, Ronald Acuna Jr. did what he has done so well since the start of the season: he gets up and helps his people.

Yesterday it went through a 454-foot homer that came off his stick at 121.2 MPH.

What is interesting about the race between the Dodgers and the Braves is that they are not only the two best clubs in the National, but in addition, the race for the MVP is crazy.

If Acuna Jr. had the title in his pocket a few weeks ago, Mookie Betts’ huge August came to make the race closer than in the American, where Shohei Ohtani will be crowned.

Add to that the votes that Freddie Freeman and Matt Olson will get (which is a bit ironic) and we have the ingredients for a wild ride by the end of the season.

The two clubs will meet at 4:10 p.m. this afternoon… and clearly, they could face each other for a place in the World Series in a month and a half.

round 10
