Good news for baseball fans: the Blue Jays will very often be presented in French on TVA Sports.
The station has just announced that in 2023, 81 games per year of the Toronto club will be presented on TV in French. We are therefore talking about one out of two matches.
Well done.
In the past, we know that TVA Sports presented Jays games, but it was only once or twice a week.
There, with 81 games on the menu, we are talking about three or four games each week.
Note that the Blue Jays agreement expires in 2025, one year before the end of TVA Sports’ contract with the National Hockey League.
Having Jays games is a good way to attract fans in front of the televisions since the Canadian club has been quite popular in Quebec for several years now. This is even more true with the presence of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. within the club.
And obviously, in 2023, John Schneider’s men will have a big club.
I can’t wait to see the broadcast schedule to see the match distribution. I expect maybe a little less ball games during the NHL playoffs (especially during the first rounds, when there are more games), but more in the heart of the summer.
It’s a good thing for the visibility of the sport, that… especially if we add the matches of the World Baseball Classic, which will also be presented on TVA Sports.
