Blake Snell and the Yankees spoke on Monday

Whether through the free agent market or via trade, the New York Yankees desperately need another quality arm in the starting rotation if they are to have any hope of achieving their ultimate goal of winning a first NFL championship. World Series since 2009.

If it is the first avenue that is taken, the name of Blake Snell still surfaces, despite all the rumors that have linked him in vain to New York in recent weeks.

Indeed, even if the chances are slim that the two parties will agree on the terms of a contract for a few years, the Bombardiers continue to discuss with the recipient of the Cy Young trophy in the National League.

This is what Jon Heyman says New York Post, claiming that negotiations even took place yesterday (Monday). The file therefore does not seem closed.

The reporter adds that the Yankees continue to keep the lines of communication open, which illustrates club owner Hal Steinbrenner's determination to win, but unfortunately Monday's call did not seem to bring the two sides together.

As long as there is life, there is hope. But this hope is very weak in the Bronx, since for his part, Jack Curry of Yes Networkargues that with the luxury tax threshold that New Yorkers do not want to cross, it is almost impossible to see Snell landing in the striped uniform.

Unless the price drops, as it did for Cody Bellinger, another client of voracious agent Scott Boras, but that would be surprising.

According to what we hear between the branches, it is rather the second aforementioned option which is prioritized by the Yankees staff, namely a mega transaction bringing a quality pitcher to New York.

To be continued.
