Trading season has officially begun.
The Kansas City Royals began their cleanup with a big trade. Reliever Aroldis Chapman makes his way to Arlington.
We knew the Texas Rangers needed reinforcements in the bullpen and the GM didn’t wait until August to move.
This is the first major transaction for quite some time.
The Royals signed the former Yankees, Cubs and Reds this winter for one year and $3.75 million. He needed a chance to pick himself up from his disastrous end in the Bronx.
And at KC, he had the chance to do so. He had chances and his average of 2.45 shows that he answered the call. And there, he plays for one of the best clubs in MLB.
The Royals, on the other hand, got some good playing time and there, assets are going to Kansas City in the transaction.
And finally, the Rangers get a good reliever to end the year. Everybody wins.
We are far from the guy who had a record contract ($ 86 million) with the Yankees, but he still has baseball in his body and a rapid in his arm.
- The Angels love their 2022 prospects.
- Anthony Rizzo should play tomorrow.
