Anthony Rizzo stays with the Yankees | Tyler Anderson is leaving for the Angels

We wondered if Tyler Anderson, who had had a great season with the Dodgers, was going to choose to stay in Los Angeles.

That’s what he finally did… but with the Angels, who offered him a three-year contract valued at $39 million. Finally, they understood that it takes pitchers… even if it was a year ago that Tyler Anderson should have been signed.

The 32-year-old pitcher had the best season of his career in 2022, his only with the Dodgers.

We thought that was the big news about players who had a qualifying offer. After all, only Martin Perez (who negotiated with the Angels) and Joc Pederson accepted theirs at the Rangers and the Giants. It is therefore a salary of $ 19.65 million that awaits them this year.

But it was shortly after that that Anthony Rizzo chose to stay in the Bronx.

He signed a new contract that will keep him with the Yankees for a few more seasons. He will earn $17 million per year over two years and he has a third year option (at the discretion of the club) guaranteeing him, in total, at least $40 million.

We wondered if the situation of Aaron Judge was going to curb the ardor of his friend Rizzo, but it seems not. Here he is at home, in the Bronx, to stay.

He will therefore not go to Houston. That’s a double win for the Yankees.
