Another match postponed due to poor air quality

Wildfires are still raging in Quebec and this continues to impact MLB operations south of the border.

Indeed, after postponing two games yesterday (Wednesday) due to poor air quality, those of the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies, the same fate is reserved for the duel which was to oppose the Diamondbacks of Arizona and the Nationals in Washington this afternoon.

The two teams will instead play their meeting in two weeks, on June 22.

There are three other matchups that could theoretically be affected by air quality today (Thursday): a doubleheader between the Yankees and the Chicago White Sox in the Bronx and a matchup between the Detroit Tigers and the Phillies in Philadelphia.

In the case of the two meetings in New York, we hope to be able to play them today, the weather conditions having improved greatly.

Throughout the day, medical and weather experts along with MLB officials will continue to assess the situation.

According to AirNow.Gov, the air quality of Washington and Philadelphia is currently recorded as very unhealthy.

Dossier to follow closely in the coming hours.
