The Minnesota Twins take advantage of playing in a weak enough division to win games. Yesterday was no exception.
Against the weak opposition Kansas City Royals, pitcher Pablo Lopez threw a full game of 12 strikeouts. His team won 5-0. It’s a wonderful performance.
But without his attack, it wouldn’t have been the same.
And for that, Lopez can especially thank Édouard Julien, who is still doing very well since his most recent recall to the Majors.
In fact, I really have the feeling that the native of Quebec is really more comfortable at bat than he was during his first two recalls.
The proof? For the second time in two games, he homered. He also drew a walk during the game.
As the MLB Pipeline Twitter account mentions, the rookie had, at the time of the home run, the fourth-best slugging, that is the average power of the American’s qualified recruits.
This is not nothing for the young man.
The more time passes, the more we feel that he has the confidence of his team. Rocco Baledelli uses him quite often at second base, his preferred position, and he responds well.
I believe that his stays in the minors may become fewer and fewer for the future. To be continued, then.
- Rain postponed yesterday’s Blue Jays game. A doubleheader will take place today.
- The Immaculate Grid game is becoming increasingly popular.
- Speaking of a nice outing from a pitcher.
- He’s polarizing, the youngster.
- And 20 for JD Martinez.
