While Chris Bassitt and the Toronto Blue Jays focus on the York Yankees and Aaron Judge instead of trying to win games, the latter continues to rack up big performances for the Bronx Bombers, like yesterday evening (Monday) against the Seattle Mariners.
Indeed, in addition to adding two long balls to his record, the Judge literally stole a home run from Teoscar Hernandez, stretching out to pick the ripe fruit on the other side of the fence.
The victim of the larceny was still amazed after the meeting and Judge took the opportunity to add a little humorous touch.
To return to the circuits of the giant format outfielder, he first hit a two-point arrow that broke the tie in the third inning, before doing it again solo in the sixth, thus bringing the score to 9-4 in favor of the Yankees, sailing to a 10-4 victory.
The only downside for New York was the loss of center fielder Harrison Bader, who left in the third inning with a stiff right hamstring. His injury occurred when he hit a single outfield.
The Yankees were already without first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who is suffering from stiff neck after colliding with Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. in Sunday’s game. The evolution of all these injuries will be closely monitored in the Bronx.
The Yankees and Mariners will cross swords once again tonight at 9:40 p.m., while Nestor Cortes and Logan Gilbert will be on the mound.
