As you know, the Star Match is coming up. It will be a great time to see the stars of Major League Baseball meet in a relaxed setting.
We know that the fans had a say in the game’s starters in positional players, but MLB still chose the pitchers and reserves who will show up at bat.
But whatever the formula, Alex Verdugo was not chosen. Whether it’s by the fans or whether it’s by Major League Baseball, it’s not there.
And the main interested party deplores the fact that a “popularity contest” from the fans cost him a place in the Summer Classic.
Good. What you need to know is that criticizing those who have the power to bring him to the All-Star Game may demonstrate exactly why he was not chosen.
And whether he is right or wrong.
Why am I saying that? Because the guy plays for the Boston Red Sox, a club with huge visibility and a huge fan base.
Whoever knows the season of his career in Boston should be there, but he’s not. Is it because he has an attitude that does not attract people’s sympathy? I have a feeling yes.
I think it’s just a fan popularity contest. And the person who came in shouldn’t be there.
–Alex Verdugo
He did not want to identify the player he considers too much, but one can think that it is an outfielder of the American, of course.
Mike Trout, Randy Arozarena, Aaron Judge, Luis Robert, Austin Hays, Yordan Alvarez, Adolis Garcia, Kyle Ticker, Julio Rodriguez and Brent Rooker have all received their invites.
Many will not go because of injuries, in particular.
Verdugo, who believed that the Red Sox had proven everything at the beginning of April (ahem…) and who likes to criticize his opponents, may have to change his approach to gain popular favor, right?
