Albert Pujols named deputy commissioner and analyst at MLB Network

Albert Pujols made his television debut yesterday (Sunday) on Peacock during the game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

And that’s just the beginning for the man who retired from major league baseball in 2022.

Indeed, Pujols will act as an analyst for the MLB Network in addition to having been appointed special assistant to the commissioner. He will advise the league on player relations and other issues in the Dominican Republic.

The principal concerned cannot hide his joy following this news.

I couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter in my career. Commissioner Manfred and I share the same passion for the development of sport in the Dominican Republic and I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together. I am also grateful for the opportunity to join the MLB Network family. I’ve been a huge fan since the very beginning and can’t wait to get started.

For his part, Commissioner Manfred is also happy with this addition.

Beyond his long list of accomplishments on the pitch, Albert is a highly respected figure who represents the game extraordinarily well. He is passionate about making a difference in our communities.

This announcement does not change the role he already has with the Los Angeles Angels, since he still plans to work with the prospects of the California formation in the Dominican Republic.
