The circuit competition is a popular event. After all, even those who don’t necessarily like baseball will turn up their noses to watch.
For the moment, we know that several men have confirmed their presence in Seattle next Monday. Julio Rodriguez, Pete Alonso, Mookie Betts, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Randy Arozarena will be there.
But now a sixth name (out of eight) has just been officially added to the list of participants in the circuit competition.
We’re talking about Adley Rutschman, a young star receiver in the Baltimore Orioles organization…and his dad should be his pitcher.
Rutschman’s choice is surprising since he’s not exactly a power hitter at base. He has 11 home runs in 79 games this year and 24 long balls in 192 career games.
But what you need to know is that many established stars don’t always want to participate and the Baltimore receiver is an emerging star. Having him is a good sign for baseball.
But above all, several players are good at batting practices without.
Ichiro, for example, was formidable as no one to hit home runs before games, but he made the choice to become a king of hits.
But I understand why the appointment is surprising.
In my opinion, he will either make it to the final or he will finish last in the competition. I feel like there will be no middle ground.
