Did you see how easily the Texas Rangers disposed of the Baltimore Orioles in the division series? This is a scenario I didn’t have on my series bingo card.
In fact, I believed in the Rangers’ potential. That said, I told myself that with such a succession, the club was not going to do anything good.
I was wrong. #ExpertBaseball
Landing Corey Seager and Marcus Semien transformed the franchise. This gave the club a one-two punch of fire which is really beautiful to see.
But still: I always have the feeling that it is on the mound that it will be played out a little further. And despite the deficiencies of the relievers, the Rangers are in the car.
For what? First, there’s the Bruce Bochy factor. Don’t give him the wrong button because since the start of the series, he’s only pressed the right ones.
But there is also the fact that the club’s pitchers will undoubtedly receive a solid helping hand in Max Scherzer and Jon Gray.
The chances of seeing both pitchers again in the championship series are good. And there, that would give more resources to fight in the championship series, a first in 12 years in Texas.
Remember that the Rangers are waiting for the outcome of the Houston vs. Minnesota series to find out who their opponents will be.
And for history, seeing the two Texas clubs face each other would be interesting.
Imagine Justin Verlander versus Max Scherzer. Dusty Baker vs. Bruce Bochy. A club subscribed to the championship series against a new kid on the dance floor… but a club that seems invincible at the moment.
If the Twins pass, it will be great for Édouard Julien. That said, the Texas series could give MLB a run for its money.
