Adam Duvall joins the Red Sox

For a few days, the rumors that sent Adam Duvall to Boston were strong. After all, the club needs to add a baton after the loss of Trevor Story and the departure of Xander Bogaerts.

And when I say “a stick”, I mean more than one.

Obviously, it’s the middle of the infield that needs to be improved, but with Kiké Hernandez in the line-up, he can come and help out in the infield if the club ever needs it.

And that’s obviously the plan in place. Why? Because outfielder Adam Duvall signed a one-year contract in Boston.

He will earn seven million dollars in 2023, but he could have three million more depending on his performance on the field.

Interestingly, Duvall played consistently in center field. So he could/should be the regular there while Alex Verdugo and Masataka Yoshida could take care of the outfield corners.

Duvall has slowed down (averaged .213, 12 homers and 36 RBI last year in 86 games at Atlanta), but the Sox have no choice.

Details to come…

  • Brian Anderson in Milwaukee.
