Aaron Nola would fit very well in Atlanta

We know the ability of Atlanta Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos to find the missing and rare piece to make his team an aspiring team, and more.

It’s true that it hasn’t quite worked out in the postseason lately, but the fact remains that Georgia’s team is often the most complete in all of MLB.

And 2024 will be no exception. However, to get there, the original Montrealer and his flock will have to get their hands on a quality arm in the starting rotation.

Among the available pitchers, Aaron Nola’s name is perhaps the most intriguing and the one that makes the most sense to end up with the Braves.

Indeed, the right-hander is close to Braves pitching coach Rick Kranitz, who wore the colors of the Philadelphia Phillies from 2016 to 2018.

Additionally, as a Baton Rouge, Louisiana native who attended LSU, one might suspect that he might prefer to sign with a team in the southern United States of America.

Although the Philadelphia Phillies remain engaged with Nola in contract discussions, it remains unclear which avenue team president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski will take.

Perhaps the latter will turn to another free-range gunner, like Blake Snell, the likely Cy Young Award winner in the National League, even if Dombrowski is known for bringing back his star pitchers, as he did it with Nathan Eovaldi and Chris Sale during his time with the Boston Red Sox.

If that’s the case and Nola leaves the City of Brotherly Love, the Braves could become his next niche, especially since he’s represented by Joe Longo and not Scott Boras, with Atlanta currently having no clients for the voluble agent.
