MLB has planned its schedule well. Knowing that Aaron Judge had chances to play in either New York or San Francisco, the schedule ensured the Giants opened their season in the Bronx.
The Judge eventually signed in New York and was named captain. His first game in his new role was against San Francisco. The pressure was great, of course, after his 2022 season.
And he made sure the only memory the Giants have of him is as Arson Judge.
He took advantage of the strong start of his starter, Gerrit Cole, to build on that by hitting the first homer of the 2023 season. What more?
Whoever plays center today will forever remember that his first hit as captain was a homer – that’s what he’s paid for – against a club he considered this winter.
He is therefore 61 home runs from his 2022 mark and 62 from breaking the American’s record, set by him last season. He is on a good pace.
- The Blue Jays lineup this afternoon.
- Three Canadians in Toronto today.
- Will Bryan Reynolds and the Pirates get along?
- What will the Dodgers do in 2023?
