Last night, for the first time since the start of the championship series, all four teams were in action at the same time.
In the American, the Texas Rangers folded, but they did not break. Bruce Bochy’s squad took advantage of their big start to get their hands on the second game of the series.
The Rangers are currently the only undefeated team in the playoffs, going 7-0 and almost never trailing.
And in fact, besides Yordan Alvarez, no one seems to scare the Rangers. Imagine if he was in great shape, he who was so ill that he almost missed yesterday’s match at the last second…
But that’s not what impressed me the most.
What frankly fascinated me the most was to see that the Philadelphia Phillies continued their enormous work of destruction.
The Arizona Diamondbacks were not an easy customer, but despite it all, Phillies fans helped the crowd favorites triumph.
Because yes, when you reach 111 decibels in the place following Bryce Harper’s home run, you can clearly talk about a crowd advantage.
The Phillies, who are undefeated at home in the 2023 playoffs, started strong with friend Kyle Schwarber’s homer, but when Bryce hit his, it wasn’t the same.
Bryce is the golden boy which is capable of raising the decibels to a level that is completely crazy. He’s the guy who changes everything.
Did you know that in the nine games in which Harper homered for the Phillies in the playoffs, the club had nine wins?
That’s a player who makes the difference. Will Corbin Carroll be able to do the same in the coming days for the DBacks?
For the sake of the series, let’s hope so.
All the attention will be on the National duel this evening (8 p.m.) since the American teams will have today off.
- Nathan Eovaldi has bought into the Rangers’ game plan.
- The Kelces were in Philly last night.
- Zack Wheeler is a machine.
